U.S. Tariffs FAQ
*I am still shipping to the US! Using Royal Mail, I can pay the 10% Tariff for US Customers on your behalf, so that you can recieve your order with no additional fees.*
Disclaimer: This is my best interpretation of the information currently available to me in the UK. Please note all of this is subject to change and is ultimately up to discretion of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as relevant postal and courier services. I strongly recommend that all customers look into this matter themselves and consult directly with their local customs authorities for definitive guidance regarding their specific situation and shipments.
I will continue to update this page as I myself get more information, but I strongly advise you look into this yourselves as you will know your local postal authorities best.
I will continue to ship to the US and will make the necessary adjustments as more official guidance is coming out. It is my priority to make purchasing from me as smooth and as pleasant as possible for all my customers. I really appreciate your patience as we navigate this tricky situation together.
What is changing?
- The US De Minimis Exemption will end on 29 August 2025. That means no shipments valued under $800 will enter the US duty-free and without tariffs, whether they originate from the UK, EU, or any other country.
- The UK to US Tariff is currently 10%. Tariffs are based on the "Country/Region of Manufacture”, which for Granny Jing is all within the UK.
- I will be using Royal Mail to ship to all US customers. With Royal Mail, I can pay the 10% Tariff on my end when dispatching your order. This means that the US customer will pay no fees on their end, since it has all already been taken care of.
- All "Custom Bags"/" Custom Bag Requests" going to the US will now be subject to an additional 10% charge so that I can afford to pay the tariff on your behalf.
- As for all "In Stock"/ "Ready to Go" bags, I will account for this situation into the pricing of the item and will absorb this cost for you, so that the item is sold at the listed price for everyone and is ready to go.
My US customers have been so loyal and supportive, which is why these recent changes is a concern for me and my small business. US customers make up 90% of my physical sales, especially my custom requests. I am so grateful to you all for your trust, kind words and support in me. Granny Jing would not be where it is today without you all. And so, I wanted to research and collate some resources so that my American audience can hopefully feel more informed when making their decisions going forward.
